KP government launches integrated information portal

KP is the first province in the country to introduce such a portal, which will now be mandatory for all government departments to use

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has achieved another milestone in improving financial management and service delivery by launching the Integrated Information Portal. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur inaugurated the portal at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar.

Developed with technical assistance from the Sub-National Governance Program, the portal aims to enhance the financial management and performance of 183 provincial departments, including autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, universities, teaching hospitals, municipal institutions, and others.

KP is the first province in the country to introduce such a portal, which will now be mandatory for all government departments to use. The portal features financial performance indicators, interactive dashboards, and an automated reporting system, enabling better decision-making, monitoring, and effective financial oversight.

During the ceremony, the Service Delivery Performance Monitoring Report for government departments was also presented. This report, prepared with the support of the Sub-National Governance Program, serves as a key policy document to promote transparency and accountability within public institutions.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, addressing the event, emphasized the importance of innovation and reforms. He stated, “The progress we are making towards modernization should have happened much earlier. Without technology-driven reforms, we cannot tackle modern challenges.”

Gandapur highlighted that the provincial government has implemented numerous digital initiatives within a year of taking office. He directed all departments to ensure the use of the portal by July 1, warning that non-compliance would result in strict action.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the goal of these reforms is to improve service delivery and make the province self-reliant. He noted that better financial management has enabled the government to present a surplus budget of 169 billion rupees. Additionally, a 30 billion rupee initial fund has been established for data management, with plans to expand it to 150 billion rupees.

Gandapur also mentioned the restoration of the Health Card program, doubling funds for welfare initiatives, and increasing educational scholarships. He emphasized that improved financial management and monitoring have allowed the government to utilize existing resources effectively for the benefit of the people.

The launch of the Integrated Information Portal marks a significant step towards transparency, efficiency, and accountability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s governance.
