Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulbar Khan, has directed the immediate activation of newly established administrative units in Darel, Tangir, Rondu, and Gupis-Yasin to enhance governance and service delivery in remote areas.
Chairing a high-level meeting, he instructed the Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), Secretary Law, Secretary Home, and the Police to expedite the delegation of administrative, district magistrate, and collector powers to the Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) and Additional Superintendents of Police (ASPs) posted in these regions.
Highlighting the significance of these units, the Chief Minister stated that their activation would ensure efficient governance, promote economic activities, and improve the quality of life by addressing public issues at their doorstep. He directed the concerned commissioners to submit a summary to the Secretary Law for granting district magistrate powers to ADCs, while the SMBR was tasked with presenting a summary for the approval of collector powers at the relevant forum.
To facilitate smooth operations, he also ordered the Services and General Administration Department (SGAD) to ensure the immediate provision of staff and vehicles for administrative officers, along with temporary recruitments for ADCs where necessary.
The meeting was attended by the Provincial Ministers for Law, Planning and Development, and Excise and Taxation, along with the Provincial Secretaries for Law and Home, Additional Secretary SGAD, and Additional Secretary Finance.
