30-year-old Eidur Rehman was taken into custody after evidence linked him to the murder of Sheraz Ahmed

A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 13-year-old stepbrother in Laspur Valley, Upper Chitral.
According to police, 30-year-old Eidur Rehman was taken into custody after evidence linked him to the murder of Sheraz Ahmed, son of Sher Muhammad, in Raman village.
Sheraz went missing from his home on February 25, and his body was found the next day in a nearby forest.
Authorities stated that forensic evidence and a postmortem examination led to the suspect’s arrest. It is believed that he killed his stepbrother over a property dispute and tried to make it appear as a suicide.
In her statement, Sheraz’s mother had accused her stepson of strangling her only child, claiming that he had previously attempted to harm him. She alleged that the suspect was unhappy with the distribution of family property, as a significant portion, including shops, had been allocated to Sheraz.
Based on the allegations and collected evidence, police launched an investigation, which resulted in the arrest. Further inquiries are ongoing.
