Khyber Medical College Students Injured in Peaceful Protest

Khyber Medical College Students protests against College administration who denied permission for the annual book fair

The Islamic Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) at Khyber Medical College (KMC) has strongly criticized the police for using violence against students who were protesting peacefully. The protest happened after the college administration denied permission for the annual book fair, a tradition organized by the IJT for many years.

The students claimed their right to peaceful protest, as allowed by the Constitution, and held a sit-in. However, the police used excessive force, hitting students with batons. Many students were badly hurt, and some were taken to the hospital in serious condition. Three students are reportedly in the ICU.

The IJT has accused the KMC administration and the police of breaking the Constitution of Pakistan. They have demanded that the DSP and SHO responsible for the violence be suspended immediately.

The IJT has warned that if their demands are not met, they will start bigger protests across the city, using their right to peaceful demonstrations. This incident has caused anger among students and the public, who are calling for justice and accountability for the injured students.
