74 leaders of PTI aquitted for February, 9 violence

The anti-terrorism court has acquitted 74 leaders and workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) who were charged in 7 ATA, 302 and other cases for February, 9 violence in the district headquarters, Alpuri where two of the PTI workers were killed and several others were injured.

According to the counsel senior lawyer, Sadar Khan advocate, the anti-terrorism court 2 in Swat, judge, Ashfaq Ali Haider had discharged the Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf senior leadership of Shangla, Including former provincial minister, Shaukat Yousafzai, Haji Syed Fareen in the February 9 case in which 74 activists were charged under sections 7ATA, 302 and others.

On February, 9, the very next day of general elections a clash was erupted after the protest rally in the district headquarters in Alpuri. The rally was led by the PTI senior leadership, candidate for NA-11 Haji Syed Fareen, Shaukat Yousafzai, Nawaz Mahmood Khan and the rally was later turned to bloody clash with police resulting in death of two PTI workers and dozen other injured on the day.

The Police had lodged an FIR against the PTI leaders and workers and nominated 74 persons in it and added 7ATA, 302, 324 and other multiple sections and after rounds of trials at the ATC court in Swat, the court acquitted all 74 PTI leaders and workers of the case.

According to Sadar Khan Advocate, the case had been dismissed by the court, however other cases related to the elections still under trial as they claimed the NA-11 seat had won by the PTI candidate Haji Syed Fareen.

Prominent PTI leaders, workers charged in the case were former provincial minister for labour and culture, Shaukat Yousafzai, Haji Syed Fareen, tehsil Alpuri chairman Waqar Ahmad Khan, Mohmmad Zaman, Gul Hamrooz, Habib Tofan, Zaheer Abbas, Najeeb Shahzad, Islamzada, Asif Khan, Malook Khan, Shahid Khan, Asghar Munir, Aftabulhaq, Suliman Khan, Waseem Khan, Bakhtiar Khan, Nawab Khan and others.

The case counsel members, Mujrab Khan advocate, Sadar Rehman advocate, Shebar Khan advocate, Jaida Khan advocate, Ikram Khan advocate, Abdul Hakeem Khan advocate, Mir Alam Khan advocate, Mohsinullah Advocate persuade the case.

The PTI’s senior leader, Shaukat Yousafzai told The Northern Post after being discharged in the case that it was the winning of the right and truth and defeat to those became members of fake form 47 and stole the public mandate.

He said he believed that every PTI leader and workers would be discharged from the fake cases.
