At least 8 tourists died and nine others were injured when a Gilgit Baltistan-bound van plunged into a ravine and caught fire at the Babusar pass area, the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.
The Rescue 1122 official and police told The Northern Post the van was heading towards Gilgit Baltistan from Sahiwal of Punjab when it plunged into a ravine and caught fire at Babusar pass area as a result 8 passengers including children, and women died and nine others were injured.
Rescue 1122 officials, said the rescue operation was underway in which Diamer of GB and Naran of KP Rescue 1122 teams were taking part.
The police confirmed that passengers in the van were from the Sahiwal district of Punjab and traveling for a tour with family to northern areas of Pakistan.
