70PC of livestock in Shangla vaccinated

SHANGLA: About the 70 per cent of animal’s population across the district Shangla vaccinated and provided with necessary treatment in third phase of Mass vaccination of livestock, concluded here Tuesday.
The concluding ceremony of the 3rd phase of the Free Livestock Vaccination and Treatment campaign was held in veterinary hospital Chakesar, Shangla which was attended by the Muhammad Anwar Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Dr. Hazat Hadi Director Livestock, field staff and farmers.
Dr. Shaukat Hayat, Monitoring Officer, said that despite the COVID-19 challenge, the field staff worked exceptionally well in creating mass awareness and providing vaccination, deworming and necessary treatment services free of cost to more than 70% of the animal’s population in whole Shangla.
Dr. Hazat Hadi added that all the available resources were being utilized for benefiting the poor farmers.
Additional AC, Chakesar, Muhammad Anwar Khan, expressed satisfaction on the activities of livestock department and distributed free medicines among the farmers.
The Livestock department official said that, Project Support cheques amounting Rs 80,000 to Rs 120,000 were distributed among the farmers having successfully completed the 03 months’ cycle of rearing the animals under the Prime Minister Feedlot Fattening Program.
