Mansehra bypass opens new pathway to Northern Pakistan
KP Govt Approves Millions for Datta-Kotkay Bypass to Ease Traffic

The Amount of Rs 580 million has been approved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for the Construction Project of the Datta–Kotkay Bypass, connecting to the Karakoram Highway (KKH) with the Mansehra Naran Jalkhad Road. This project is designed to reduce travel time and also boost tourism in regions like Mansehra and Kaghan Valleys.
For travelers visiting locations such as the Kaghan Valley, Naran, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), Mansehra is a crucial stop. However, the city has frequently faced heavy traffic, particularly during tourist visits. In order to facilitate simpler and quicker access to those tourist destinations, a new bypass route is being constructed to divert heavy traffic from the main city.
Kp Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati approved the bypass, and it will function as a vital connection between KKH and MNJ Road, creating new travel routes for both local and foreign travelers.
At the opening ceremony of a new government middle school in Huddobandi, PTI leader Kamal Saleem Swati talked about how important the project is for the progress of the local area.
“This road will save time and reduce traffic jams for visitors traveling between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and AJK. It will also promote tourism and trade in Kaghan Valley and other parts of Mansehra district,” he said.
Kamal Saleem Swati said that the government is working to improve long neglected infrastructure to boost transport and the local economy. Further, he also announced a Rs. 100 million project for farm-to-market roads and pavements in Safada village, funded by the KP Assembly Speaker’s development fund. Local leaders, including Safada VC Chairman Basharat Ali Swati, welcomed these efforts, saying they will benefit both residents and tourists.
