Government and Business Leaders Unite to Promote Investment in Tourism, Energy, and Agriculture

The “2nd Chitral Expo and Economic Development Conference 2025” was successfully held on October 25 and 26 in Chitral, aiming to explore and promote new avenues for economic growth and investment in the region.

The two-day event was organized under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BOIT), in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

The conference and exhibition focused on highlighting trade and investment opportunities in Chitral and the northern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The event brought together representatives from various government departments, investors, business leaders, financial institutions, economists and social organizations.

Exhibitors from Chitral and Peshawar showcased their products from diverse sectors, including tourism, agriculture, handicrafts, food, minerals and services, providing a platform for promotion and marketing.

Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Rao Hashim Azeem, who was the chief guest, said that Chitral is blessed with abundant natural resources and holds immense potential in tourism, energy, minerals and agriculture.

He added that investment in these sectors will not only create employment opportunities for local communities but also contribute to the overall economic development of the province.

Director Business Facilitation KP-BOIT, Iqbal Sarwar, in his presentation, stated that the provincial government is committed to developing the northern districts through investor-friendly policies. He said that the Chitral Economic Development Conference serves as an effective platform to introduce investors to the region’s vast economic potential.

President CCCI, Mehboob Azam, in his welcome remarks, appreciated the KP Government’s efforts to promote Chitral’s economic development.

Representatives from other business associations also commended KP-BOIT’s efforts in bringing together diverse stakeholders to share experiences and build business linkages.
