Federal Government has issued a notification to observe Black Day on 27 October against the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In this notification, there were no orders of public holiday.
According to the notification issued by Cabinet, on 27 October a minute silence will be observed in whole country at 10am in the morning in respect of the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people and show solidarity with them.
Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting has requested all private and government organisations to organise awareness campaign and events to show solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers.
On October 27, 1947, Indian Army entered the Siri Nagar and occupied the Jammu and Kashmir, and this day is considered a black day in the history of South Asia
However, October 27 is not included in the government’s current list of public holidays for the year 2025, and the day is not a public holiday. Although this day does not give you a holiday, its national and emotional significance for Kashmiris living in Pakistan and around the world.
On this occasion, rallies, seminars and solidarity events will be organized across the country, in which India’s atrocities will be condemned and Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination will be reiterated. Thus, every year Black Day commemorates the sacrifices of the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the unwavering support of Pakistan.
