Pakistan and Afghanistan border remains closed for eleventh day

Traders Incur Millions in Losses, Appeal for Temporary Reopening to Ease Crisis

Three important border crossings between Pakistan and Afghanistan – Parachinar Kharlachi border, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Torkham Border, and Balochistan Chaman Border remained closed for eleven consecutive days. The border will remain closed to passenger and trader traffic, resulting in the complete suspension of trading activities between the two countries.
Dozens of trading vehicles remain stuck on both sides due to the continuous closure of the Kharlachi border, and drivers are facing severe difficulties.
Minister of Trade Union, Kamran Syed, while talking on the occasion, said that local traders have faced millions of rupees in losses due to border closure, and this loss is equal for both sides of traders.
He has appealed to the authorities to open borders temporarily and solve the problems of stuck traders so that they can get the relief.
Amid the situation, local traders and the public are seeking the government’s immediate attention. The Continuous closure of borders is not only affecting trading activities but also affecting the relationship between the two countries.
