Two wanted terrorists killed in Swabi search operation

MARDAN: Two wanted terrorists reportedly killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Swabi on Sunday evening.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the district police Swabi conducted an intelligence-based operation after receiving confirmed information that four terrorists from Fitna-ul-Khawarij, riding on two motorcycles, opened fire on a police team with the intent to kill.
In self-defence, the CTD operation team retaliated, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists on the spot, while the other two managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
According to details, the CTD Mardan Region and District Police Swabi were in the Ajmer Shah Pahar Shado Dhere area for the intelligence-led operation when the four terrorists attacked the police party, targeting the CTD’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. The exchange of fire lasted approximately 35 minutes, leading to the death of two terrorists affiliated with the banned organization Fitna-ul-Kharij. The fleeing terrorists have prompted a search and strike operation in the vicinity.
During the identification of the deceased terrorists, it was revealed that they belonged to the TTP Tayyab Akbar group and were wanted for several terrorist incidents, including attacks on police personnel.
Noman alias Mane: Son of Makeen Shah, resident of Swabi. He was wanted for murder, attempted murder, extortion, and other terrorism-related cases, including the martyrdom of Constable Jamaluddin and Driver Constable Zahid.
Abdul Basit, Son of Tilawat Shah, resident of Swabi. He was a member of Fitna-ul-Khawarij and was involved in multiple terrorist incidents, including cases numbered BJRM 302, 353, 7ATA, and BJRM 324, 353, 7ATA, among others.
From the possession of the deceased terrorists, the following items were recovered: one Kalashnikov, one pistol, six magazines, 23 rounds of ammunition, two hand grenades, two mobile phones, and two cards belonging to the banned TTP.
Additional police and CTD personnel have launched a search operation in the area to capture the escaped terrorists.
