KARACHI: Pakistani national cricket team’s handsome spin bowler Abrar Ahmed is set to get married, Saturday in Karachi, with all preparations finalised.
As reported by Dunya News, according to family sources, the wedding ceremony would take place in Karachi on Saturday, while the Walima reception is scheduled for October 16 in the same city.
It’s worth mentioning that Abrar Ahmed was part of the Pakistani team that reached the final of the Asia Cup, and he played the best role. He first represented Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2017 and made his Test debut against England in 2022. This series was historic, as it marked the England team’s return to Pakistan after 17 years.

His outstanding performance of seven wickets against England in Multan in December 2022 quickly set him apart as Pakistan’s leading spinner during a time when the team needed a strong presence in spin bowling.
He continued to impress with another five-wicket haul against New Zealand in Karachi and played a pivotal role in a successful 2-0 series victory in Sri Lanka, where he was one of the top wicket-takers.
Despite his early successes, Abrar has faced challenges, particularly concerning his fitness. He first caught the public’s eye in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) back in 2017, almost six years before making his international debut. Sadly, a recurring back injury kept him off the field for a significant period. After a promising start to his international career, he faced another setback when he was ruled out of Pakistan’s Test series in Australia for the 2023-24 season due to a pinched nerve in his leg.
Nevertheless, with Yasir Shah stepping away from the game and Shadab Khan still working on his red-ball skills, Abrar continues to be Pakistan’s go-to legspinner, showcasing resilience and talent in the face of adversity.
