The upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received heavy rainfall on Thursday, triggering floods in the rivers and streams.

PESHAWAR: The upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received heavy rainfall on Thursday, triggering floods in the rivers and streams. Snowfall also occurs at the top of mountains.

According to the locals, the Shangla mountains received snowfall, while Mohmand was hit by hail and rain, accompanied by a windstorm that also struck multiple areas of the province.

They said the temperature had dropped after the mountains received snowfall and hail in their respective areas.

Residents in Shangla said that the heavy rain caused flooding in the streams and rivers. However, the rescue 1122 and local authorities reached the rivers and moved the people living at the edge of nullahas.

In August cloudburst-induced floods had caused massive destruction in the Malakand division region where more than 300 people lost their lives alone in Buner district.
