Influencer Samia Hijab withdraws complaint on Hassan Zahid
Islamabad court releases suspect on Rs. 20,000 bail after plaintiff records statement saying matter is "resolved"
Social media influencer Samia Hijab has withdrawn her complain against harrassment and abduction, after which the accused is released on bail by the court.
Accused was arrested on Sep 2 and according to the Pakistan Penal Code, the case was filed under Section 354 (attack on women with the intention of harming her self-esteem), 365 (abduct secretly), 392 (robbery), 500 (defamation) and other cases in Shalimar station of Islamabad. For now he was on judicial remand.
Today, during the hearing in the court of Additional District and Session Judge Ameer Raza, Samia Hijab recorded her statement in front of court and said that the situation is resolved and she is taking back her complain.
She said, “I have no objection on thw bail and acquittal of the accused”
When the Judge asked that is she forgiving the accused, then Samia Hijab agreed to him. Judge set the bail of the accused on Rs.20,000.
In the start of hearing, Investigating Officer (IO) appeared in court but Samia Hijab dis not appear. Investigating officer told that she will appear through video link in the hearing. Judge Zia responded that if the plantiff has any brother or father, then they can appear insted of her, otherwise she has to appear herself. If plantiff is unable to come today then we can set another date.
After this the hearing was adjourned for a while, after which Samia Hijab appeared in the court. During hearing, media and court personnel was asked to leave the court room.
