KP govt helicopter crash in Mohmand: details unveiled

Details have emerged regarding the personnel martyred in the crash of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government helicopter in the Pindiali area of Mohmand district.

Five individuals, including two pilots, were on board the helicopter. Among those martyred in the tragic accident were Group Captain (Retd.) Aftab Iqbal and Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Shahid Sultan. Flight Engineer Captain (Retd.) Saleem Iqbal, Crew Chief Havaldar (Retd.) Muhammad Jabbar, and Technician Havaldar (Retd.) Mukhtiar Ali also lost their life in the crash.

The helicopter was on a relief mission, transporting supplies to rain and flood-affected areas of Bajaur district, when it crashed in a mountainous region due to bad weather conditions.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He paid tribute to the martyred personnel, calling them the real heroes of the nation. The chief minister stated that the martyrs sacrificed their lives in service to the people and that their contributions will be remembered in history with great honour.
