The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a preliminary report on the loss of life and property in the province due to heavy rains and flash floods.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 10 people have died and 2 have been injured in various incidents linked to these weather conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The report indicates that the casualties include 2 men, 2 women, and 6 children. Among the injured, one man and one child are receiving medical attention.
Additionally, the report states that 10 houses were damaged as a result of the rain and flash floods. Of these, 8 houses were partially destroyed while 2 were completely destroyed. The incidents occurred across several districts, including Swat, Bajaur, Buner, Upper Kohistan, Upper Chitral, and Shangla.
The PDMA has instructed the relevant district administrations to provide immediate assistance to the affected families and to ensure access to proper medical facilities for the injured. The heavy rains are expected to continue until July 25. The PDMA has already communicated with district administrations to remain vigilant and to implement preventive measures.
All district administrations are maintaining constant communication with the relevant relief agencies.
