KP govt issues notification for increase in employee allowances
Key increases include disparity reduction, IT, risk, and prosecution allowances
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has increased the rates of various allowances for government employees following the decisions made in the special meeting of the provincial cabinet on June 13, 2025. These allowances include the Disparity Reduction Allowance, IT Professional Allowance, Risk Allowance, Prosecution Allowance, Utility Allowance, Technical Allowance, Judicial Allowance, Scheduled Post Allowance, and Executive Allowance.
The Finance Department has issued separate notifications for all allowances. According to the notification, the Disparity Reduction Allowance rate has been increased from 15% to 30%, which will be given on the 2017 basic pay. This allowance will be received by all employees from Scale 1 to Grade 19. However, employees receiving 100% or additional allowances, IT professionals, and those receiving Secretariat Performance Allowance will not be eligible.
Another notification states that the IT Professional Allowance rate has been increased to 75%, which will be given to IT officers based on their 2022 basic pay. Similarly, the Risk Allowance has been increased to 100%, which will be given to employees based on their 2017 basic pay. Employees from Scale 3 to Scale 16 working in the field will be eligible for this allowance.
According to another notification, the Prosecution Allowance has also been increased, with the new rate set at 100%. This allowance will be given to all employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Prosecution Cadre in the Home Department based on their 2017 basic pay. The Utility Allowance has been set at Rs. 18,000 per month, for which Grade 19 officers posted in the Civil Secretariat Peshawar will be eligible.
The Finance Department has also issued a notification regarding an increase in the Technical Allowance. The increase in the Technical Allowance will be based on the 2022 basic pay, and engineers working in various sectors will be eligible to receive this allowance.
The Judicial Allowance rate has been increased from 20% to 30% of the running pay. Employees working in the Advocate General’s Office will be eligible for this allowance. The Scheduled Post Allowance has been increased on a monthly running pay basis, for which police officers from Grade 17 to Grade 21 posted in the Central Police Office will be eligible. However, officers receiving Risk Allowance, Daily Allowance, and Senior Executive Allowance will not be eligible for the Scheduled Post Allowance.
