Three children drown in Nandhiar Khor in Battagram

Lahore Scholar School students, aged 14 and 16, lost their lives after venturing into deep waters; Rescue 1122 continues efforts to locate another missing child

In a tragic incident, three students of Lahore Scholar School died from drowning in deep water in Nandhiar Khor near Maidan Gut Mor area of Battagram.

According to Rescue 1122, the victims included a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old boy. Both children were residents of a village in Battagram.

The school’s management stated that both students went to home after school and then came to Nandhiar Khor for bath with their friends. During taking bath, they ventured into deep water, leading to the tragic accident.

When Rescue 1122 received the information, rescue medical team, ambulance and local rescuers reached the scene and started their medical aid. Both children bodies were recovered and transferred to DHQ Hospital, Battagram. However, rescue search operation to find third child is still in process.

A spokesperson of Rescue 1122 assured that their team is working diligently and soon the third child will be found too.

In another incident, another two children drown in a canal while taking bath in Gabin Jabba, Swat.
As soon as Rescue 1122 received the information, they reached the scene with medical and water rescue team. They found both children after a long search operation and handed them to their families. Victims include 14-year-old Yaman and 16-year-old Saleem.
Locals are advised to avoid bathing in canals and also abide their children from doing so, in order to minimize the risk of such accidents.
