Afghan TikTok twin sisters rescued in Peshawar, fear honor killing
Missing social media stars traced via mobile data, court orders shelter amid safety concerns

Two Afghan TikTok content creator sisters, Shakeela and Naila, who went missing six days ago after a shopping trip in Mardan, have been rescued in Peshawar, police confirmed on Sunday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Naseem Khan stated that the Nowshera Risalpur Police traced the sisters using mobile data. They were safely recovered and taken to Risalpur Police Station.
The sisters’ mother had filed a missing persons report under Code 174 at the Risalpur police station. However, after being rescued, Shakeela and Naila expressed fear of becoming victims of honor killing and appealed to the court for protection.
In response, the Nowshera court rejected the mother’s request for custody and ordered the sisters to be shifted to Dar-ul-Aman (a women’s shelter) in Mardan for their safety. DSP Naseem Khan confirmed that both sisters have been safely relocated to the shelter.
Shakeela and Naila are popular social media personalities, known for their content on TikTok and Instagram under the handle @twins_pariyan.
Further investigations are ongoing.
