A famous transgender Zaibi from the Bhera area of Sargodha, Punjab, was fatally shot in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Abbottabad district here on Thursday night during a wedding function. Another transgender person was injured in the firing.
According to local sources, a shemale Zaibi, was shot dead at a wedding ceremony in Abbottabad’s Sir Syed Colony. The deceased companion, Benish, was injured.
District police officer, Abbottabad, Tufail Umar, confirmed the incident and said that the accused had been arrested and an FIR lodged against him.
Followed by the brutal murder of a colleague, the transgender community placed the dead body outside the Mirpur police station and staged a protest.
According to sources, Malik Tauqir Saraf opened fire on transgender Zebi, a resident of Bhera Sargodha, and their companion, Benish, a resident of Lahore, in Sir Syed Colony street number two, as a result of which transgender Zebi died on the spot while Benish was seriously injured. SHO Mirpur Cadet Nawaz arrested the accused Malik Tauqir.
The body was handed over to transgenders after postmortem. Early in the morning, transgenders started protesting outside the Mirpur police station with the body. Instead of the heirs, the police are making the injured girl the plaintiff, which we will not allow under any circumstances. One of the real siblings of the deceased transgender should be made the plaintiff: transgenders demand.

In February this year, a transgender person was shot dead in the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they were returning from an event.
The victims, identified as Shagufta and her companion, were returning from a musical event in Nizampur when they were ambushed near Khairabad Road.
