One killed, 70 injured in Nushki oil tanker blast

Balochistan CM orders airlift of critical patients to Karachi; key terror suspect confesses to Indian backing

A devastating oil tanker explosion in Balochistan’s Nushki district has left one person dead and over 70 injured, with 10 victims in critical condition. The tragedy occurred when the tanker caught fire during welding work at a local depot. In a heroic act to prevent greater catastrophe, the driver moved the burning vehicle to an open field where it subsequently exploded, killing him instantly. Among the injured were a DSP and three police officers who were evacuating civilians at the time.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti immediately ordered emergency medical airlifts, with 24 critically injured patients transported to Karachi hospitals via C-130 aircraft. Seventeen victims were admitted to Liaquat National Hospital while six others received treatment at Patel Hospital. Medical authorities reported that 10 patients suffered burns covering 80% of their bodies, with 20 more severe cases expected to be transferred to Karachi facilities.

In a related security development, Pakistani forces arrested Farid Baloch, a key suspect in the recent Nushki terrorist attack on a passenger bus convoy that killed five security personnel. During interrogation, the alleged BLA Majeed Brigade member confessed to receiving support from India’s RAW intelligence agency and RSS operatives. He revealed acting as a courier for funds and instructions communicated through Snapchat, with planning meetings occurring in Afghanistan.

The province witnessed further violence as seven unidentified bodies were discovered near Ziarat’s Konchi Dam, prompting local protests and road blockades demanding justice. Authorities have launched investigations into both incidents while forecasting potential relief from a coming weather system expected to bring rain and cooler temperatures across Pakistan from May 1-4. Government officials have pledged full support for victims and vowed to pursue all those responsible for the attacks and explosions.
