Samsung has officially begun rolling out the stable One UI 7 update, based on Android 15, for its flagship Galaxy S24 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 in select regions. The update introduces a host of new customization options, visual enhancements, and advanced Galaxy AI features, marking a significant upgrade for users.
The rollout initially started in South Korea on April 7, 2025, before expanding to European countries like Germany, the UK, Poland, Italy, and Hungary. By April 10, the update reached the U.S., with unlocked Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra devices receiving it first. Canada followed soon after, with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 getting the update with firmware versions ending in BYCJ and BYCK, respectively. Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to more regions in the coming days.
One UI 7 brings a redesigned user interface, featuring smoother animations, rounded shapes, and improved transitions. A standout addition is the “Now Bar,” a Dynamic Island-like notification feature that displays real-time activities on the lock screen, status bar, and home screen. The update also enhances Galaxy AI tools, including AI Select for creating GIFs from videos, Writing Assist for text summarization, and an Audio Eraser feature for selective audio editing in videos.
Performance and security have also been upgraded, with the update including the April 2025 security patch. Beta testers will see a smaller download size (400-500 MB), while others may need to download up to 5 GB. Users can check for the update via **Settings > Software Update > Download and Install**.
Samsung’s delayed rollout of Android 15 comes as Google prepares to launch Android 16 later this year. Meanwhile, rumors suggest the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, expected in July, may debut with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box.
With One UI 7, Samsung is delivering a faster, smarter, and more secure experience, setting the stage for deeper AI integration and further innovations in future updates.
