Fans outraged as CID’s ACP Pradyuman killed off after 27 Years

Sony TV confirms shocking exit, sparks social media storm; fans demand justice for beloved character

The confirmation of ACP Pradyuman’s death in the long-running Indian TV show *CID* has left fans heartbroken and furious. The character, portrayed by veteran actor Shivaji Satam since 1998, was reportedly killed in a bomb blast during a high-stakes encounter with the criminal Barboza (played by Tigmanshu Dhulia). While the death was not explicitly shown on screen, Sony TV’s official social media post late on Saturday confirmed the tragic twist, declaring, “End of an era. ACP Pradyuman (1998-2025).”

The announcement sparked an emotional outcry from loyal viewers, many of whom grew up watching the show. Fans flooded social media with grief and anger, with one writing, “It’s not RIP to ACP Pradyuman. It’s RIP to CID. With this heartless move, you buried a legacy.” Another lamented, “Why kill him so abruptly? He deserved a heroic farewell.” The character, known for his sharp intellect and iconic catchphrase “Kuch toh gadbad hai,” has been a cornerstone of CID for over two decades.

Despite Sony’s confirmation, some fans remain hopeful, pointing out that the death wasn’t visually confirmed in the episode. “ACP Pradyuman is alive and will return,” insisted one viewer. Actor Shivaji Satam added to the uncertainty, telling *Bombay Times* he was unaware of his character’s fate. “I’ve taken a break, but no one told me if my track is over,” he said, leaving room for speculation.

Meanwhile, reports suggest actor Parth Samthaan will join CID 2 as the new ACP, Ayushmaan. Samthaan acknowledged the challenge of filling Satam’s shoes, calling it a “big responsibility.” However, fans remain divided, with many vowing to boycott the show without ACP Pradyuman.

The abrupt exit of such an iconic character has left a void, with viewers questioning whether CID can survive this loss. As tributes pour in, the future of the show hangs in the balance.
