33 doctors, 17 paramedics in Nowshera found absent from duty while drawing salaries

Employees Posted at Mian Rashid Memorial Hospital & DHQ Hospitals Accused of Chronic Absenteeism

In a recent report, 33 doctors and 17 paramedics in Nowshera’s health department were found drawing salaries despite being chronically absent from duty.

According to details, the District Health Officer (DHO) Nowshera has issued strict orders for all absentee medical staff to immediately resume their duties. The accused were posted at Mian Rashid Memorial Hospital and District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals but allegedly remained absent for prolonged periods without valid reason.

Sources reveal that the absentee employees enjoyed political backing, which previously shielded them from disciplinary action. However, the district health department has now decided to take legal action against them for negligence and misuse of public funds.

Authorities have warned of strict consequences for any further violations, emphasizing that such practices compromise healthcare services and burden the system.
