The University of Haripur on Monday suspended security-in-charge, a retired Army officer, after his alleged ‘video’ with a girl went viral on social media.
The University registrar, Riaz Muhammad, confirmed this development to The Northern Post via WhatsApp, stating that after an alleged video of the University Security in charge went viral on social media, they suspended the private company security in charge and initiated an inquiry into the case.
A suspension order issued by the University management, available with Dawn.com, said Safir Ahmad, security supervisor, has been suspended and an inquiry against him initiated.
The university also formed a committee to probe the matter, headed by the chief proctor and three other university officials.
Mr Riaz Muhammad, the University’s registrar, told The Northern Post that the inquiry would likely complete the probe and submit a report to the vice chancellor in the next two days.
“Initial information as say that the incident is not occurred in the University premises and the girl appeared in the video seems to be outsider, however, this all would be clear with the inquiry,” He replied and added that no one would be allowed to engage such immoral activities in the University nor any staff to work at the institution who is involved in such crimes.
