10 houses collapses in Shangla in rain related incidents

SHANGLA: A man was died, 10 houses and a shop was collapsed due to heavy rainfall and landslides in the upper parts of Shangla district, tents, foods and other relief items have been dispatched to the affected areas.
Deputy commissioner Shangla Fayaz Sherpaw told Dawn on Thursday that eight houses and a shop was completely collapsed and three houses were partially damaged due to heavy rain and landsliding.
He said Taloon, Saidanu Dehrai, Makhozai Puran, Olandar, Belkanai, Aligram Puran and Kotkay Alpuri are included in affected areas.
According to the administration relief goods had been dispatched to the affected areas, the relief was comprises on foods, warm blankets, tents domestic use pots.
The administration further said that roads except Karora-Chakesar are had been cleared for all sort of traffic, while road clearance work was underway on Karora-Chakesar road, which will be opened for traffic with immediate effect.

Deputy Commissioner Shangla Mr. Muhd Fayyaz Khan Sherpao has also issued directions to all quarter concerned/line departments to be vigilant and proactive to meet any emergency. ADC Shangla Mr. Maqbool Hussain and all revenue officers/officials are closely managing the situation. Relief items (tents, blanket, etc) are being dispatched to the affectees.
The administration said that houses of Hamdullah of Ranzra Taloon Tehsil Chakisar, Khiwa of Shinko Parai, Makhozai Tehsil Puran, Haji Muhd of Saidano Dehrai Khadang Tehsil Chakisar, Fazal Karam of Olandar Tehsil Alpurai, Bakas of Lodar Bilkanai Tehsil Alpuri, Shabir Ahmad of Lodar Sory Bilkanai Tehsil Alpurai, a house at Wahab Khel Kotkay was completely collapsed, while one shop of Mr. Toti Rahman in Jaba Alagram Tehsil Puran was partially damaged due to land sliding, however no human loss was reported in the incidents.
Meanwhile, Provincial disaster management authority, PDMA has said that a man Shamshad, resident of Mian Kaly Pir Abad was died after hitting by landslide avalanche when he was on way to Shahpur through the mountains.
Snowfall and rain was also continued in the district for fourth consecutive day turning the weather cold.
