SHANGLA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf provincial vice-president and the government’s focal person on trade and investment, Nawaz Mehmood Khan, has said the owners of land used up for construction of 27 kilometres Dandai-Chakesar Road will be paid compensation soon.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said he had met the chief minister in that regard and apprised him of the fact that the affected people had not been paid compensation despite construction of the road six years ago.

“On my request the chief minister has directed Shangla deputy commissioner Imran Hussain Ranjha to submit a report to him immediately,” Nawaz Mehmood said, adding that about 100 people of six villages were affected by the road.

He said he had also requested the chief minister to give status of tehsil to Makhozi area of Puran and order construction of a bypass in Alpuri and reconstruction of Chakesar degree college, which was in dilapidated condition.
